Picnic In Jamestown

A Picnic We Drove Out To

It was a small, but hearty group that headed to the home of new SMT members, Harold and Peggy Camden, in Jamestown, TN.  Leaving the Halls Crossroads area, “Lucy” (Bob Berry’s and Debbie Cooper's GPS unit) took us through some very back roads.  But they were good!  Initially, the unit allowed us to tour a Pilot Truck Stop!  But once it settled down, some nice roads were found!

With Bob, Debbie and “Lucy” at the head, our group arrived in Rugby, TN, where newly-moved-to-SMT-and-long-time-PCA’er, Mikee Braunstein, met us in his twin-Turbo.  About five minutes later, host Harold Camden showed up in his freshly restored ’67 912 (he also has an ’86 944).  After introductions, Harold led us the rest of the way (giving tired ‘ol Lucy a break) to his and Peggy’s home in Jamestown.

A picnic was laid out by all comers, with the winning layout being that of our host and hostess.  We enjoyed the afternoon, took a ride on the Camden’s pontoon boat, and celebrated Bob Berry’s 71st birthday with a surprise birthday cake.

About 4:00PM, we brought the festivities to a close and headed back to Knoxville.

Thank you Harold and Peggy for the invitation!  We had a good time!

Picinic goers included Bob Berry and Debbie Cooper, Ron and Michelle Brandenburg, Bob and Sue Southerland, Vic and Carol Rola, Mikee Braunstein, and Harold and Peggy Camden.
